Course Description: This course will provide a comprehensive overview of innovations and essential techniques for success in direct anterior restorative dentistry. A significant amount of material will be presented, focusing on the “pearls” we all strive to glean from clinically based presentations. In addition, the course will include an update on new dental materials and clinical techniques.

Bio: Alex J. Delgado, DDS, MS, is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Director of the Department of Continuing Dental Education at the University of Florida. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universidad Santa María in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2001. From 2001 to 2010, Dr. Delgado practiced in both private and clinical settings in Venezuela and North Carolina. In 2014, he received his Master’s in Operative Dentistry along with a Clinical Certificate in Advanced Operative Dentistry from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Delgado is an active member of several professional organizations and has served as a manuscript reviewer for six peer-reviewed dental journals. His research interests include dental erosion, biomaterials, and educational methods. He has authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. At the University of Florida, Dr. Delgado co-directs the Master’s program in Operative and Esthetic Dentistry and provides patient care in the areas of prevention, restorative dentistry, and esthetics.
