Course Description:

This is a 1-hour presentation that will give dentists the tools and confidence to decide whether to restore or remove a tooth in any clinical situation. It will give the provider the knowledge to predict functional and aesthetic outcomes when restoring damaged, severely broken, or fractured teeth.

The presentation provides a detailed—check-list type—explanation and description of specific tooth-preparation variables and how these elements intermix with periodontal health and aesthetics.

This lecture is a must for any restorative dentist.

• Achieve restorative excellence.

About Dr. Perez:

• Dr. Jose R. Perez joined Tomoka Periodontics and Implant Dentistry on January 4, 2021. Dr. Perez is originally from Puerto Rico where he received his DMD degree in 1990. After practicing general dentistry for ten years in his office in Puerto Rico, Dr. Perez attended Boston University where he received his Advanced Specialty Training in Periodontics. As a periodontal resident, he launched and directed Institutional clinical research in periodontal and crown lengthening surgery. His research led to the publication of a Thesis as well as a Master of Science Degree. He has also authored two articles in the Journal of Periodontology. In 2005, he established himself in South Florida in private practice in periodontics.

• In 2010, Dr. Perez made a career adjustment out of the private sector and joined the United States Navy Dental Corps. During his Naval career he served as the Department Head of Periodontics, Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer Program Manager, Continuing Education Provider, and Command Infection Prevention and Control Officer.

• Dr. Perez is currently working on an extensive publication on the topic of crown lengthening surgery and restorability of teeth. With this new publication, he intends to give specific guidelines to aid dentists in determining the restorability of teeth using a multidisciplinary approach to achieve exceptional aesthetic and functional restorative outcomes.

• Dr. Perez brings this incredible background and experience to our team, and tonight he will share with us some of his clinical pearls.
